THIS 81 GENUINE TRANS AM IS A DESIREABLE YEAR AS IT IS:
-LAST YEAR of the “ Smokey and the Bandit style Trans Ams" and the series II firebirds. It is a genuine trans am, the highest performance and credentialed of the Pontiac firebird range.
-YEAR USED IN 2ND “SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT MOVIE”.
-ONLY YEAR OF THE RARE turbo V8 engine. This is a fresh original engine matching numbers car. At the time they ran a bit rough with a turbo and carby combination but someone has taken the expense and trouble to change this car to EFI and this car runs like a dream.

12 month warranty. Receipts for all work. Our mechanic that does all our work has been described by even our most discerning clients as meticulous and the best choice for these classic cars. He is happy to discuss the work he has done.
Rebuild included: Engine block machining; Cylinder head overhaul with new valve springs. Cam bearing installation; Crankshaft grind; Conrod resizing. Full service, plugs filters, fluids etc as per new engine installation.
ORIGINAL MATCHING NUMBERS ENGINE This engine was worth the effort of rebuilding as it is the last year of pontiac V8, the highest horsepower engine in the US that year and the only year of this engine. It starts, runs and drives beautifully and has great throttle response. Its an ideal luxury cruiser.
ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION - Fi Tech system with extra computer control/screen in cab (not connected at present, brand new kit also included) with optional driver adjustments and display of all gauge readings.

Basically straight and clean but some very small dents in usual areas such as where doors opened etc
NO RUST STRUCTURALLY IN CHASSIS ETC
Overall a sound car with a total of about 4-5 small (1-2cm) surface rust bubbles on entire car. Rust repaired areas on boot lid (new boot lid available if required).
This car is still very striking to look at with awesome decal, classic trans am body kit, and classic glass T Tops.
FULL TRANS AM BODY KIT looks awesome– side vents, spoilers front& rear, wheel guards, half scoop trans am bonnet.
LED RUNNING LIGHTS under doors and at rear look great
GLASS T TOPS– in excellent condition and do not appear to leak at all.
SPECTACULAR EAGLE DECAL– fully detailed silver and black two toned huge bonnet eagle. Not the basic modern cheap take off version. In excellent condition. Matching side eagles.
Trans am letters on rear spoiler are showing wear.
Turbo and trans am decal on bonnet and under side vents all in excellent condition.
PAINT: This car is a headturner with superb decal and the paint is overall good enough it looks stunning a few metres away. Its a striking driver car but close up it is not at all a show car.
Overall paint looks great and is in good condition but there are alot of small imperfections, small paint cracks and chips, touch ups and an uncut overspray area. However a couple metres away car looks amazing and hence will suit a driver car to enjoy, NOT a show car.
BLACK & RED INTERIOR— IN FANTASTIC CONDITION WITH TONNES EXTRAS
*STUNNING VELVET SEATS in deep black/red tones. Front seats in excellent condition with only very slight wear and tiny repair on edge. Rear seats near immaculate

*SPECTACULAR INTELLITRONIX DIGITAL CUSTOM DASH in excellent condition. Lights up with graphs and digital readings for all gauges. Stunning black with hint metallic red shining through.

Selling unregistered. (As I have trade plates (and the high cost of transferring rego makes registering my classic cars impractical) and when so many get sold interstate there is no point.)
